Sapa region is well known to foreign tourists, especially 63 km from the city where the B Bc Hà market is located, a very colorful stop that delights many visitors... In the northeast of Lao Caia, Bac Ha owes its reputation to its ethnic market, smaller than Sapa but enjoying a warmer climate, Bac Ha is similar to a border town where a multitude of ethnic groups of mountains meet every Sunday. Various ethnic minorities come in hope of selling their crafts, products, livestock to tourists but also to locals.

In this market, many mountaineers belong to the Hmong ethnic group, but it is also possible to cross the ethnic group of Dao, Lolo, Tai, Nung, Laichi, Phulao, Thulao, Hoa and finally Vietnamese.

As many ethnic groups as colours. The traditional costumes of every ethnic group make the wealth of this incredible market. The Hmong flowers belonging to the Hmong ethnic group are the most present, Bac Ha being the capital of this colorful ethnic group. They come to the market to sell their crafts and silver jewelry also. Their outfits are real rainbows and are their first sources of income.

Silver jewellery is also an important place in the culture of mountain ethnicities, treasures that can also be purchased in the Bac Ha market.
