9 ways to save money to travel

Ideas to save money

It’s beautiful to dream of travelling around the world... But it’s not by dreaming that you’re going to succeed on a journey. If you have the will of save money to travel, then follow these few tips and you have already made a big step towards your destination!

1. Negotiate your invoices

This is based only on assumptions, but you have nothing to lose: if you complain that your phone, cable or internet bills are too high, your operators will often panic about losing a customer and therefore negotiate with you a lower price. We never know! You could save a little money, if you dare to make the call.

2. Get rid of your "bad habits"

In your everyday life, you probably have some habits that you could take away to save money: make your coffee yourself instead of buying it all prepared in a Café, a station shop or in the street, take public transport and leave your car, prepare to eat the day before for lunch at your work instead of eating out every noon, etc... However, if you stop all your habits at once discourage you, you can give up a habit every month, you will save money.

3. Become an addict of generic brands in supermarkets

Trust me, the barbecue chips from the brand of the distributor are just as crispy as the Lay’s barbecue chips. And this works with all the products. Tell yourself anyway that you will return to brand products if you notice a change, but you will certainly see almost no difference.

4. Put in place a savings account just for your trip...

... and then plan automatic transfers on this account. Seriously, if you plan only 14€ per week (2€ per day!), you will accumulate more 700€ in the year without even seeing you. If you don’t trust yourself, open one term account , which does not promise much interest, certainly, but will oblige you to make regular transfers, without you being able to touch it for the duration you set. Ask your bank.

5. Take a smaller apartment

Do you really use all the space of your 120 m2? Perhaps moving to a smaller and cheaper apartment would be more sensible, if you absolutely want to save for your trip. If you own and have a free room, feel free to rent it on sites like Airbnb . You only accept the hosts you want and it’s a money gain that you didn’t have until then. Thanks to this system, you can earn from 100 to 500€ per month if your home / apartment is well placed in a large city.

6. Renounce superfluous expenses

Close your subscription to pay TV channels, your gym, your movie outings, etc... You can spend it (the time to save and finally leave for this trip!). Instead, please public channels and less recent movies on the internet (they are cheaper), go run in a park with a friend, etc...

7. Borrow your books in a library

Register in a library. If you read a lot, borrow your books in the library near you. And spend this year buying your books in store.

8. Sell your clothes and your belongings that you no longer use

Too many clothes you don't put? Sell them! This will have the advantage of sorting in your business and will allow you to win one or two tickets. You can do it on the internet or in frigates. Also for all other cases you no longer use (furbs, objects, etc...).

9. Use real pig piggy

This tip is known because it works. If you want to fill your pulley, however, you have to play the game and empty all your currency inside every day.

Does that seem to be overmountable? Do you have any other ideas to save money? Comment and share!
