History of the Futuroscope

The 31 May 1987 The Futuroscope Park officially opens its doors. In particular, the general public discovers Kinémax , the largest flat screen in Europe, and the Futuroscope Pavilion . The tone is given: here, science and technology are honoured, in a friendly and fun way. Animations and exhibitions are thought to delight the whole family, children as adults!

The project was born thanks to the departmental council of Vienna. His president, René Monory , was at its origin, and started the construction site in 1984. In Chasseneuil-du-Poitou and Jaugnay-Marigny, there are no less than fifty-three hectares dedicated to it. The Futuroscope is composed today of leisure park and one technopôle adjacent.

Over the years, the park has sought to create surprising new attractions, especially from a visual perspective. In 1990, he welcomed the Omnimax a semi-spherical screen with IMAX® system. 3D technology, augmented reality: the park takes advantage of the scientific innovations of the twenty-first century to share them with the public.

The Futuroscope also develops night shows grandiose, where poetry and science mix: « The Mystery of the Blue Note » (2009) or « Lady Ô » (2013) have left stars in the eyes of visitors for a long time.

The park is also, regularly, partner of events . He hosts concerts in his Palais des Congrès, and has been several times a stage of the Tour de France. Finally, he works closely with teachers and receives school groups throughout the year.

  • Arthur, the 4D Adventure

Created by Luc Besson , the attraction opened its doors in 2010. Based on the world of "Arthur and Minimoys" films, she invites the curious to a coccivolating race! With its sharp visual effects and its different sensory effects, it always wins great success with both small and large.

  • Dance with robots

  • Futuropolis

Open in April 2019 , the attraction « Futuropolis » is specially designed for children. It looks like a mini-city where weed explorers play sportsmen, gardeners or archaeologists in turn. A fun experience to project in the future!

For the exhibition “L’oiseau des mers et l’oiseau soleil”, 56 photos of Francis Demange on texts Hervé Bonnot . How to visit the Futuroscope?

There is no real sense to visit the Futuroscope. The route will depend mainly on your desires of the moment. Nevertheless, you can facilitate your visit with the mobile free of charge from the Futuroscope.

Whether it's the day before or the day, you'll be able to check the time schedules of attractions and shows to program your visit to the park at best.

Thanks to the plan from the park available on the application, identifying an attraction or finding toilets will become much easier. Even better: it displays the waiting time in real time at each attraction. No longer need to lose hours in a queue, you can choose to do something else instead!

How do I go to the Futuroscope?

To visit the Futuroscope, several options are available to you:

By car

You take the highway to the Futuroscope? Take the A10 until exit No. 28 Futuroscope. You'll be there. less than 5 minutes .

If you come by car from Poitiers, know that the park is about 20 minutes , north of the city, on avenue René Monory, in Chasseneuil-du-Poitou.

By public transport

Chasseneuil-du-Poitou is served by the public transport network of the Grand Poitiers. To get to the Futuroscope, you can borrow:

  • lines 1 and 21 Vitalis network, Monday to Saturday.
  • line ESunday.

Attention : no bus circulates 1 May and schedules change depending on summer or winter!

By train

Since 2000, the Futuroscope has its own TGV station. An asset to easily reach the park! You can also get to the Poitiers station , then rally the Futuroscope station thanks to an Intercities train or TER train.

By plane

If you think you’re on the plane, airport Poitiers-Biard I'm at your service! The airport welcomes travellers from France (Lyon, Nice...) and England (London, Manchester). Do not hesitate to book your tickets in advance and to use Ulysses to find a flight at the best price.

HORARI

This year, Futuroscope Park is open from 09 February 2019 at 05 January 2020 , 10 a.m. at nightfall. Animations are planned throughout the day. To know them in advance, you can consult the calendar available on the park's official website.

Attention : schedules and programming may be modified or deleted, especially depending on weather conditions. To make sure you don't miss anything, stay connected! The application of the Futuroscope will help you once again, offering you the opportunity to check the schedules.

RATES

Several tariff formulas are proposed to anyone who wants to visit the Futuroscope. In fact, prices are not the same as you are an adult (17-59), a senior (60 years and older) or a child (5-16 years old). In addition, you can book tickets dated or free.

You can choose to come one day or enjoy a stay, including one or two nights. If you want to come only in the evening to enjoy the show, you can also! The tariff range is therefore very wide! To learn more about this, do not hesitate to visit the official website Park.

- A minimum size is required for some attractions. Consider measuring your child at the "Help to visit" point before you start your trip or check upstream table of sizes required. - Adapted services are provided for visitors with disabilities. The Futuroscope was awarded the Tourism and Handicap label. - Many restaurants are at your service in the park, but you can also picnic in the area provided for this purpose.
