Virtual Tour of La Réunion Island with Google Street View

A small gem located in the heart of the Indian Ocean, the island of Reunion, known for its famous Piton, its impressive cliffs and its sandy and black beaches delivers all its secrets, thanks to a virtual visit.

After Eiffel Tower or Mont Blanc , Google Street View takes you to the island of La Réunion. The island within a few clicks

To capture the beauty of the island, Google used Trekker, a 18 kg backpack containing a dozen cameras taking shots simultaneously to create a 360° view. In order to offer a complete panorama of the island, more than 50 routes and 255 km travelled in 425 hours of walking which were taken in photo from all angles.

Between the Piton de la Fournaise en éruption, the Roche Ecrite, the Piton des Neiges, the Cap Noir and many beaches with black sand, it is almost all of the island that offers to users of Google Street View from home.

The Hermitage Beach

Filmed by Google, the beach of the Hermitage is a small corner of paradise not to be missed. Located between La Saline les Bains and Saint-Gilles-les-Bains, this wild beach is particularly appreciated by the local population. With its white sand, palm trees, lagoon and transparent water, the landscape is worthy of a postcard.

The Port of Saint-Gilles

Other must-see place of La Réunion, the port of Saint-Gilles , which is full of shops and restaurants. Also, boat dives and cruises are offered to admire the seabed, dolphins and whales.
