Transfer between Jean Paul II and Krakow Airport

If you decide to visit Krakow soon, there is a great chance that you will be brought to land or take off from John Paul II Airport. So here are some tips for your transfer.

There are several ways to carry out its transfer between Jean Paul II and Krakow Airport. The best, often the fastest and cheapest one is the train we will introduce first.

Train transfer

When you arrive at Krakow Airport, there are small machines on which you can book a train ticket to the city. For a go-simple it will cost you 8 Zlotys (1.8€) and one round trip 14 Zlotys (3.20€) .

Once this ticket is in your pocket, you only have to go right out of the airport and follow the road to a bus stop. This is where the free shuttle takes you about 400 metres to a small train stop where you just have to get into the train to get out at the Krakow Glowny stop (Cracovie centre).

In the opposite direction, just go to the Central Station of Krakow to take its ticket to the airport to the machines also present in the station.

Bus transfer

In case you cannot take the train or you want to make additional savings you can take a few bus lines that pass in front of the airport:

– Line 252 from the airport to ‘Os. Podwawelskie’ every 40min and stops at the points Cracovia Błonia, Jubilat and ICE (1 bus per hour) – Night line 902 which runs from 23h25 and returns between Krakow centre and airport (1 bus per hour).

The bus is cheaper (2 zlotys) but can take a little more time depending on traffic. There is still a good option when you have to leave at night or early in the morning before the first trains. In Krakow Glowny, you will find the bus stop leaving at the back of Terminal 1 to the right.
