The small seaside resort of Mui Ne in Vietnam

Visit Mui Ne in Vietnam: what to do, what to see?

Even if Mũi Born more and more resembles a resort for Russians and a small Saint-Tropez becomes, this small town is well worth a deserved stop of at least two days. Located 230 kilometres east of Ho Chi Minh City , it still takes 5 or 6 hours to get there by the road (the traffic is impressive and the roads are cleared). But once on site, you will need little time to acclimatize: sun, beach, and sand dunes are on the program.

This river is also called Fairy Stream (source to fairies) and you can start the walk here . Come in in the middle of the day to enjoy the fresh water that will barely reach you to the ankle for its deepest part. The water is very clear, and if it seems muddy to you, it is because of the reddish earth. There is something magical about this place, with tropical vegetation, bright red earth, small waterfalls, and people in good mood.

20 kilometers from Mui Not even, we find the big one village of Phan Thiet . Between the two small cities, you will observe that there is a mound overlooking them. It is the Mount Ong Hoang on which were built very characteristic towers of the places of worship Cham. The best thing is to rent a scooter in Mui Ne and go quietly. How to get there? Click here .

Banch dunes, red and a lotus flower lake

With its sand dunes, Mui Ne evokes the Sahara desert. There are two sites where you can find dunes: only 5 km from Mui Ne, there are the red dunes easily accessible by scooter. You can practice it sandboard Sand surfing. The ideal is to go there in the morning or at the end of the afternoon when the sun does not hit too hard.

40 minutes from Mui Ne scooter, towards Nha Trang , we fall on the white dunes . Try to go early, or at sunset. The dunes are striking and deserve a visit to them alone. But the fact is that they border a quiet lake filled with Lotus flowers . The place is now quite known to tourists to cross many. We can even make quads.

On the road you will pass by a fishing village offering a view of the sea really pretty with its blue boats. A nice place to take pictures. Fishing boats Mui Ne

Beach and water sports in Mui Ne

The beach of Mui is often « caresssed » by a small wind allowing to practice sports like kitesurf and windsurfing. The small seaside resort is also known for its waves and attracts surfers. If you’re not at all sports, you’ll just have to swim. Kite Surf Mui Ne Vietnam

Take a bus from Ho Chi Minh City by booking it in a local tourism agency (see the street De Tham ). The bus will take you to the middle of Nguyen Dinh Chieu Street in Mui Ne. Ask your driver to drop you off at your hotel if it's excited. If you come from the other direction, since Nha Trang and Dalat , the best thing is to take a bus (between 4 and 5 hours of travel). Where to eat in Mui Ne?

The fishing cities of Mui Ne and Phan Thiet are renowned for their seafood cuisine and you will have the choice on the Avenue Nguyen Dinh Chieu . Just think about watching the menu before you sit down. Many restaurants are held by Russians and you might want to avoid them. You will also find some bars to go out in the evening.

In the day, take the time to go on the Phan Thiet local market to taste local food and especially fruit, which are excellent here.

Where to sleep in Mui Ne?

Mui Today no longer resembles a resort for rich than a small fishing village full of charm. That said, you will find still beautiful guesthouses (always along this Nguyen Dinh Chieu Avenue). You will certainly make your choice on site, since there is always room and prices are not high. However, if you have to book in advance your charming hotel (or luxury), we advise you to do so with our partner .

Have you been to Mui Né? Have you enjoyed the small town or would advise you not to stop here during a trip to Vietnam ?
