This forest covers a rug of wild jacinthes at the end of April early May
If you are looking for places outside the beaten paths to visit in Belgium , here is an excellent place to discover. Although it seems to come out straight from a fairy tale, this wood is in fact real . His name is Hallerbos (Bois de Halle or Bois de Hal in Dutch) and is about 30 minutes' drive south of Brussels.
What makes so spectacular and so enchanting this forest is its blue and violet carpet of wood bloom in spring and early summer. Photographers indicate that the colors really have this special blue, especially in the humid conditions of the morning mist . The latter gives the forest a mysterious atmosphere.
The dense rugs of wild jacinths ( Hyacinthoides non-scripta ) generally indicate that the forest in question is very old. This does not necessarily mean that trees are old, but that wood has always been wooded for at least three or four centuries.
When to visit the Bois de Halle?
To be sure to find the forest as it is on the photos present here, you have to go there end of April . But according to the years, from 15 April to 15 May, the jacinths are bloomed.
