Wanderlix presents its top of the 10 most beautiful falls and cascades of Guadeloupe!
Between its beautiful beaches populated with palm trees and its infinite green tinted mountains, passing through its fascinating volcanoes, Guadeloupe is definitely a land of wonders. Nestled in the middle of Les Petites Antilles in the heart of the Caribbean, it offers biodiversity that is hardly equal.
But after surveying diving spots, fine sandy beaches and bars in the atmosphere more than warm, it is time for you to discover the surprises that you reserve inside the Guadalupian lands. Thus, by losing yourself in Goyave, Pointe-Noire or Old-Habitants, you will certainly have the chance to discover the most beautiful waterfalls in Guadeloupe.
However, they are so many that you will be difficult to admire them all during your Guadalupean getaway. To remedy this, Wanderlix advises you to rent a vehicle throughout your stay to maximize your travel time. You can go through Jumbo Car, car rental guadeloupéen , to guide you in your car rental approach on the island.
1. Falls of the Carbet
How do you evoke the most beautiful waterfalls in Guadeloupe without presenting the fall of the Carbet? With three different cascades and a height of about 110 meters, they are without hesitation the most impressive of the Caribbean archipelago.
Located in the territory of the commune of Capesterre-Belle-Eau on the island of Basse-Terre in the National Park of Guadeloupe, at the foot of the Soufrière volcano, the Carbet falls are the second most visited of the island.
2. Saut de la Lézarde
Located in the heart of the rainforest on the commune of Petit-Bourg in Guadeloupe, the lezarde jump is definitely one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Guadeloupe.
High 12 meters and with an impressive flow, this waterfall is faithful to the heavenly representation we do. Many tourists have come to spend the day in order to bathe in its clear water basin, for a moment as suspended in time.
3. Cascade with shrimp
Very easily accessible (about 10 minutes walk) by a well-appointed trail, the shrimp waterfall is absolutely perfect for an unforgettable time with family or in love. Its heavenly spot is particularly popular with tourists, who come to bathe in the time of an afternoon.
If you have planned a hike in the town of Petit-Bourg, in the heart of the tropical forest and its heavy climate, this waterfall will be the perfect place to refresh you.
4. Saut d’Acomat
You can discover the Acomat jump in the heart of a hike along the river of the same name, at the place called Les Plaines, between Mahaut and Pointe-Noire. If this hike is quite easy, it is not cross-country, and can be trampled the day after heavy rain...
This stunt, discreet but splendid, is the perfect place to spend a moment with your half. Pretty little busy in the week, you should be able to find the calm you were looking for.
5. The fall of Galion
The fall of Galion, in turn, is one of the most impressive and beautiful waterfalls in Guadeloupe! Indeed, with its 40 meters high and its pond with red ochre water, it leaves no one indifferent.
To get there, you will have to go to the edge of Saint-Claude and take a walk marked with a light elevation of about 200 metres. Unlike the other Guadalupian waterfalls, the Galion Fall is very little frequented by tourists, especially because its basin is not conducive to swimming.
6. Paradise Basin
The Paradise Basin is, as its name suggests, a real little corner of paradise! Reminiscent of Mexican cenotes in a more tropical atmosphere, this waterfall offers an unforgettable landscape. The water is transparent, you are surrounded by lianas in the heart of a light bucket... A perfect moment.
Easily accessible, the Paradise Basin is located not far from the Carbet Falls. When you arrive at the pool, we recommend you continue your path until you fall on a small "hot" waterfall, revealing water to more than 30°C...
7. Cascade Tambour
If you love lost paradises, and you are looking for the most beautiful waterfalls in Guadeloupe, head to the town of Petit-Bourg (again) to discover the waterfall of the Tambour River. Accessible via a semi-aquatic hike, this waterfall promises an atypical afternoon.
If you do not wish to take this hike, you can always reach the Tambour waterfall via a path from the parking lot of the Bain picnic area in Colo, on the forest road of the Lézarde.
8. Saut du Bras du Fort
The Saut du Bras du Fort is a pretty waterfall, quite little taken by tourists, located in the commune of Goyave, along the river Fort. You can access it after a slight hike that will offer you the opportunity to discover an agricultural path, a forest trail and a sublime river path.
Don't worry, the river crossing is no longer accessible. And above all, it will offer you an unforgettable arrival on this atypical cascade.
9. Moreau Falls
In turn located in the commune of Goyave, the chaining of the Moreaux Falls is one of the most impressive cascades in the world. With a main jump of about 100 meters, then two secondary jumps, the Moreaux Falls are actually breathtaking.
The hike to get there is very pleasant in dry weather, and you will discover several of the most beautiful waterfalls in Guadeloupe!
10. Fall of the Caillou River
If it is far from being the most famous of the Guadeloupe waterfalls, the fall of the Caillou River is yet one of the most charming. Slightly crowded, and only about 30 minutes walk, it is accessible via a fun water hike, during which you will cross the river no less than... 6 times!
The basin is welcoming and the water is rather clear, which will greatly encourage you to swim.
So, what waterfalls are you going to crack during your stay in Guadeloupe?
