The 9 most beautiful hikes to make in Porto-Vecchio

The hikes in Porto-Vecchio are among the most beautiful and varied in Corsica: in the mountains or by the sea, for the ride or trek, everyone finds his account.

Set at the bottom of a bay, on a coastline cut and punctuated with beautiful beaches, Porto-Vecchio, very animated in season, invites you to relax. Small easy paths allow you to walk on the Mediterranean background, with bathing breaks.

Above Porto-Vecchio, we change the scenery: the reliefs quickly gain in altitude, it is the area of the Corsican mountain, the Alta Rocca, with its odors of nature and its eternal serenity, with magnificent views of the sea... We quickly understand where this nickname is from, along the most beautiful hikes in Porto-Vecchio!

We enter the lively of the subject, with a hike in Porto-Vecchio that climbs: the top of the Punta Vacca Morta , or Pointe de la Vache Morte. The Corsican version, whose path begins at the refuge of Cartalavonu, will be kept: on the way back, this walk requires a little effort, with a few steeper passages, on the very end in particular.

It is the price to be paid to enjoy the most beautiful viewpoint on the bay of Porto-Vecchio and the massif of the Alta Rocca: 360° panorama from the top of the Punta Vacca Morta !

The path is not long, but a little accidented by place, before reaching this must-have site. To be seen in the spring, when the flow of the cascade is at the highest.

The Bavella Aiguilles Tower is a rather technical path, which should not underestimate the difficulty, especially under the heat. On the other hand, you will be widely rewarded by beautiful landscapes throughout the route.

We continue our hikes in Porto-Vecchio on the mountain side, exploring the Cavu valley this time.

The trail runs along in the first part of the Cavu river, pleasant and refreshing, very photogenic with its polished rocks, before going back through the maquis to take a little height (attention, it climbs!), and enjoy the view on the surroundings. The return is done in a loop to your starting point.

The trail runs by the sea, to reach the Genoese tower of Fautea offering a beautiful view. Two beaches are on the hiking programme: the small beach of Lavu Santu, and the beach of Lavu Santu, both beautiful!
