The Haute-Savoie is a true paradise of the hiker. And there are so many choices that we sometimes don’t know or give head. But in the midst of this innumerable list of trails, the Parmelan is considered a must in the region. Located in the Bornes massif, this superb ascent is an integral part of the Annean landscape and the life of the Hauts-Savoyards.

But what are the simplest ways to get there and some paths favor? Here is the top 3 of the most beautiful hikes in Parmelan.

1. Le Parmelan by Villaz

The Parmelan by Villaz is a superb loop hike offering a beautiful view of the Mont-Blanc but not only. You can also observe from your first stop at the Ch-back chalet a sublime panorama of the chain des Aravis and Lake Annecy . The trail then borrows the great mountain well known for its aerial passages and steep landscapes.

This hike in Parmelan is accessible, it’s very pleasant in the summer, but it’s also a great playground to make winter snowshoes. The path is perfectly marked and the view once reached the top is simply grandiose!

2. The head of the Parmelan by the Chalet de l’Anglettaz

The departure by the chalet of Anglettaz represents the easiest path to reach the head of Parmelan. On this hike the gap is less important and the more flat surfaces allow you to climb smoothly.

In just half an hour walk you will reach the Petit Montoir, starting point of a wider path on which you can see the Aravis as well as the Mont Blanc.

Then take 1h30 to 2h from the starting point to access the Chalet Camille Dunan located at the foot of the head of the Parmelan. Open from May to September, it will allow you to make a refreshing stop during this hike in Parmelan, which takes you to an altitude of 1,834 metres.

You can also find the Parmelan refuge directly at the top of the climb. Keeped from mid-May to late September, this is the ideal place if you want to spend the night on the plateau while enjoying a unique experience. Not to mention the ecstasy of waking up and drinking his coffee in such a majestic setting!

3. Le Petit Montoir- Tête du Parmelan- Col de Pertuis

The Petit Montoir circuit, Head of Parmelan and Col de Pertuis will make you discover the most beautiful passes in the region. You will thus follow the ridge of Parmelan before reaching the pass of Pertuis. It is a lesser path than others and yet the diversity of its landscapes is a real treat for the eyes.

This hike in Parmelan is very pleasant to make during the spring and summer seasons, but the terrain is not recommended in winter. It’s a great journey that will allow you to discover the Parmelan under a new day and it’s also a good way to venture on the mountain in the weekend without having to experience the sunny days.

If you are on the way to Haute-Savoie, get out of the beaten paths and take this circuit both grandiose, original and still a little preserved from tourism.

Attention, however, some portions on the trail can be quite technical. The circuit by the pass of the Pertuis will not be the ideal for novices but represents a pleasant challenge to take if you already have a small level of hiking.
