Hang on, this course is worth it! The climb of the Hauts-Forts is much more than a simple hike around Morzine. This is the culminating point of the Chablais massif, 2 466 m altitude . He overlooks the Avoriaz station.
To reach it, you will take a return route 10 kilometres towards Bramaturtaz. A crossing of a pretty vallon later, you will follow a rocky crest to the Col des Chalettes and that of the Encarnette. A few dozen meters later, you will finally climb the top of the Highlands. Its 360° panorama on the Mont Blanc and the Dents du Midi, as well as the presence of chamois, marmots and raptors throughout the journey, is worth a visit.

Plan well rigid boots, it is often rocky: train to ankles! They will be essential to cross the Dranse valley of Montriond, dominated by the tip of Vorlaz, and reach the tip of Chavanette. It is located on the French-Swiss border and offers a magnificent view of the Dents du Midi.
The descent is done very quietly on the side of the friendly lake of Avoriaz, at 1,735 metres above sea level. 14 kilometres in total for this exceptional route, what to occupy a beautiful summer afternoon!
