In this island with beautiful landscapes, crossed by countless trails, hiking in Mallorca naturally appears as a first-choice activity, and by far the best way to discover this destination.

The mountainous reliefs of Mallorca, like its literals cut out of coves and beautiful beaches, make up a splendid setting for hiking, in the example of the Llevant region, in the east, or of the Serra de Tramuntana , this chain culminating in Puig Major at 1436 meters above sea level, all ranked by Unesco with world heritage!

1. Ascension to the monastery of La Trapa

Generally, hikes to Mallorca are climbing quite a bit, and this will be the case for this hike in the south of the Serra de Tramuntana Short enough in kilometers, but with the denial concentrated on some steeper sections. 3. Descent of the Torrent de Pareis to the creek of Sa Calobra

It would be possible to make a complete ranking of the most beautiful hikes in Mallorca by focusing only on the paths of the Serra de Tramuntana ... Here, we are tackling an arduous walking route, because of a more technical terrain, where we have to be ready to help with hands for certain passages. Go well prepared, with good walking shoes.

In fact, the route aims to descend (sighten up) the spectacular Torrent de Pareis, a canyon that leads towards the no less spectacular creek of Sa Calobra, framed by limestone cliffs and lined with crystalline waters. Ideal in off-season, when the places are deserted, but only in dry times, as the canyon rocks quickly become slippery and hardly practicable.

This time we change a little area, for a hike in Mallorca in the northern region of Alcudia. The goal of the route is to reach a dream creek whose Mediterranean has the secret: Playa del Coll Baix . Lost in the middle of the cliffs, only a path frequented by goats allows access to the beach, unless coming by the sea.

This is the perfect place if you love calm, and transparent waters. The way is to go back, with many very beautiful points of view: on some more technical passages, the hike changes in small climbing sessions with the hands, station to the rocks that roll! Run with good shoes, and only if you are sure of your balance.

5. The summit of the Cap de Formentor and the creek of Cala Murta

On the Cape of Formentor, the particularly steep north end of the Serra de Tramuntana , the trails take a very spectacular look: prepare yourself for various memorable panoramas throughout this beautiful hike of Majorca, leading to the top of the course as in one of its most beautiful coves.

Leave the car behind you to start the trail in the direction of el Fumat: the view overhanging at 335m altitude is superb. It is then a progressive descent, in zig zag on the mountain side, to win the creek of Cala Murta, real postcard of the Balearic . Plan to drink and eat for a break before going back for a looped route.

6. View from Talaia de Son Jaumell

Just east of the island in the region of Llevant, this hike in Mallorca is even more beautiful early in the morning, with the sunrise on the Mediterranean to accompany you, or at the end of the day, to the declining light. The view from Talaia de Son Jaumell will only be more spectacular.

The full itinerary, starting from Cala Agulla, accumulates its small denivelé, as it climbs and descends on the tops of the area. Do not hesitate to mark the break in Cala Mesquida, beautiful large sandy beach, for a refreshing swim.

Back in the Serra de Tramuntana with one of the most rewarding hikes in Mallorca: the itinerary is difficult overall, with a solid elevation, and quite a few kilometres of paths to be explored. But the game is worth the candle, because on this course you will enjoy some of the most beautiful views of the massif, like the Mirador de can Costa .

Great loop to be expected on the day from the charming Valldemossa, note that you will have to make a application for a permit to take this path (link on the itinerary), in order to limit a too large flow of walkers.

8. Cala Boquer from Port of Pollença

The prospect of a nice quiet cove and bathed in transparent water is always a good source of motivation to revive Majorca. Here we go from the station of Port de Pollença to follow a path along the way Valle de Boquer , unlocking the cove of the same name.

The trail is relatively short though a little steep on the end, and the swim in Cala Boquer is as pleasant as salvatrice on heat days.

9. Deia to Soller by GR221

Among the hiking trails of Mallorca, the GR221 crossing the whole Serra de Tramuntana is mythical. This route invites you to cross one of its most beautiful sections, linking Deià to Soller: a dive in the heart of the rural and cultural heritage of the island, on paved paths through landscapes of striking beauty from end to end.

Linear route, buses make it easy to return to your starting point at the end of the rando.

10. Cap de ses Salines until Cala Marmols

In the southeast of the island, the course of its Salines is one of the best places to hike to Mallorca by the sea, discovering beautiful coves. The coastal path from the Salines lighthouse is superb and is without problems on the way back. Foresee what to protect you from the sun, because the shadow is rare in this part of the island!

For mountain climbing and walking enthusiasts, you will be filled with this hike in Majorca, certainly demanding, but largely at the height of the effort provides.
