A moving Jewish memorial in Budapest showcases shoes on the banks of the river crossing the Hungarian capital, the Danube.
On the banks of the river is a monument for Hungarian Jews who were shot and thrown into the Danube by the members of the Flying Cross Party (fascist) in 1944. Title Shoes by the Danube ( Cipők un Dunaparton ) by the sculptor Gyula Pauer and director Can Togay, it’s a very simple site: 60 pairs of old-style shoes and shoes made of cast iron, thrown any way on the shore of the river... But it is one of the most poignant monuments de Budapest .

The members of the Flying Cross Party had asked them to remove their shoes just before slaughtering them and to get carried away by the current of the Danube.
At 3 different points, you will find a cast iron plate with the inscription: To the memory of the victims shot into the Danube by Arrow Cross militiamen in 1944–45. Erected 16 April 2005

If you're gonna see him Hungarian Parliament On foot, you will not miss this small monument in Budapest.
Where exactly is the boot memorial on the Danube?
I showed you on the map below the exact location of the shoes on the Danube. It is between the chain bridge (Széchenyi Lánchíd) and the parliament. You can’t miss the place. For even more precision, the place is visible on Google Street View .
The closest trams are trams 2 and 2A.
