By landing on the island by its main airport ( Puerto del Rosario ), start your visit by the north of the island. Direction Majanicho, passing first by the uncontournable Corralejo.

This city, though tourist, has been able to preserve its attractions. It is first of all the base to reach the islands of Lanzarote and Los Lobos two other jewels of the Canary Islands. It is also a pleasant and welcoming city for a shopping breeze, a seaside ride or a long festive evening.

Finally, it is above all the main entrance door on the famous dunes of Corralejo. These spectacular expanses, south of the city, extend to a loss of sight and inspire great serenity.

2. Majanicho to El Cotillo

Your road trip to Fuerteventura finally leads you to the gates of El Cotillo, an ancient fishing village where maritime traditions are still alive. 3. El Cotillo in Betancuria

Betancuria is undoubtedly the most beautiful and picturesque village of the island. Get up early to enjoy it. In particular, you will meet the small endemic Barbaria squirrels. Want a day of nature during your road trip to Fuerteventura? Enjoy the rural park of Betancuria: a protected area with many birds, aloe vera and ecotourism. You will be enchanted by the hiking panel through volcanic or humid zones, cliffs and ravines.

In the early or late afternoon, resume the FV-30 in the direction of Ajuy. This coastal and colorful village is renowned for its volcanic black sand beach and its patchwork of colorful houses. On the way, you will find the Mirador Las Peñitas : a must-see on the island.

5. Ajuy in Morro Jable

Leave Ajuy, direction Sotavento and its piercing blue lagoon. This is one of the highlights of your route in Fuerteventura. Paradise of kitesurfers and windsurf , this fine sandy beach offers a sparkling and striking scenery of contrasts. Enjoy turquoise water and the landscape designed over the tides before actually descending to the south of the island.

At the end of the day, heading to Morro Jable. In the vicinity of the village, you will still find a lighthouse, huge beaches and the magnificent ocean at a loss of sight. Then you will discover a city center full of charms and walks in the shade of the large flowered palm trees. Here, diving enthusiasts and snorkeling will be at the angels.

6. Morro Jable in Cofete (back)

Located south of the island, the beach of Cofete is known as the most beautiful of any route in Fuerteventura.

Twelve kilometres wonderful, wild and magnetic landscapes, which leave without voice the lovers of wind, salt and seaside tourism.

After an hour's drive, put your car for a buggy. This is the essential activity around Cofete. Drive to the southern tip of Jandia Park. It is finally a fun and unique way to continue your road trip to Fuerteventura!

There is no infrastructure on the beach of Cofete, so at the end of the day, return to your accommodation on Morro Jable.

  • Costa Calma : instead of sleeping on Morro Jable, put your suitcases to Costa Calma. In addition to its above-mentioned hike, its beaches with cliffs and volcanoes, form an idyllic setting. Here too, quad/buggy rides and surf lessons are legions.

7. Morro Jable in Puerto del Rosario

Head back to the airport. The change of territory is particularly marked by the encounter with the lighthouse Punta de la Entallada . On the way, you will also cross the village of Pozo Negro . A well-kept secret and an unparalleled atmosphere.
