You want to (re)discover the tapas, Spanish speciality to share, here are my 4 relaxation addresses in Palma de Mallorca!
The tapas are a Spanish specialty that consists of taking several small ramequins of different foods and sharing them all together. Often accompanied by a beer or sangria, sharing tapas is above all having a good time to relax from the day that has just flown. Small advice for quantity: counting more speciality than the number you are, if you are 4 chosen for example 5 tapas. Here are my 4 addresses to spend a convivial moment in different atmospheres (possible addresses for gluten-free people)!
Bar Coto, like Frida Kahlo
With this address in Palma you will see life in pink! You can’t miss the front, so it’s pink and golden. Like Frida Kahlo, the Bar Coto, is eclectic and international. The menu is very varied and the menus are available. If you start with Spanish specialties and only know how to choose, they are a good way to make you discover the specialties essential to a beautiful tapas evening. And to accompany everything I advise you to taste their sangria with white wine, a real touch of freshness!
Address: Bar Coto 12, Plaça de la Drassana
Restaurant Oveja Negra, the black sheep
If you would like to take a quiet break, the Oveja Negra is ideal because slightly away from the busy streets of downtown Palma. The kitchen is simple and generous. I advise you to take the “Pimientos del Padron”, these are small green peppers, fried in oil and seasoned with big salt, it absolutely doesn’t sting and it’s no end. Also drop the tapas “Aioli” is a treat!
Address: Oveja Negra , Costa d’En Sintes, 10
Restaurant La Botana, a country setting
I have never seen La Botana faint, and this restaurant is not very big! Unfortunately there is no terrace, but the flowered decor and the watercolors make you feel like home. The tapas are generous and varied. If you like cheese, the must-have speciality of this place are the paned camembert quarters, which are served warm, and therefore slightly flowing, to soak in the jam, a delight!
Address: La Botana , Carrer de Can Brondo, 6
Restaurant Casa Julio, the canteen
A true Spanish canteen with wooden furniture and tiles, Casa Julio will make you travel to the heart of typical Spain. There is a small terrace often filled, but with some luck you can find a little room. The kitchen is very generous and tapas bears witness to a real know-how. A tip to enter this place and enjoy the friendly atmosphere of Palma, learn a few Spanish words!
Address: Casa Julio , Carrer de la Previsió, 4
