Grand-Bornand awaits you: novice or ski fan, here are all the offers dedicated to the ski offered on site.

As its inhabitants say, "The Haute-Savoie is in the Savoie what the haute couture is sewing." This small ancestral rivalry between the two departments can lend to smile, but in Haute-Savoie, we are proud to be native to it. It must be said that this territory is truly sumptuous: the Mont-Blanc , Lake Annecy , its sublime ski resorts...

In the heart of of the Aravis the Grand-Bornand clearly stands out. Located between Annecy , Chamonix and Geneva the commune combines authenticity and sportivity. Interminable trails and high-performance ski lifts await you from December to March. The ski resort welcomes thousands of demanding tourists every year that they are beginners or confirmed in the field of slip.

To learn all about the packages, courses and rentals of the station, we present you a small practical guide. You will only have to choose the formula that is right. Run!

When you come to ski in the Grand-Bornand, it is essential to have a package. If not, however, the trails will be accessible (they are completely free) but... you will have to walk up. Not practical, huh?

To avoid this, get a well-formed package. They can be purchased at the main mechanical lift office. The latter is located on the 81 road to Borne, Grand-Bornand Village. Open 9h to 12h and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. , you are recommended to book it in advance (the queues can be particularly long, especially in high season).

Good news for tight budgets : it is possible for you to pay in 2 or 3 times without charge to the office of the lifts. They can also be booked online on the station's official website.

Packages cost the same price for all Whether you're a skier or a snowboarder. The package holders at the Grand-Bornand are presented as elsewhere in the form of a chip card. The skier must never leave the skier when he is on the slopes under pain... to no longer be able to access the ski lifts.

Glissed in one of your pockets, the chip card is magnetically detected by a tonic that gives access to the lift of your choice. Keep your proof of purchase preciously: in case of loss, you won’t have to repay everything, only the smart card!

Ski lessons are part of the collective memory of a whole country! Whole generations succeeded in Indian line behind the monitors dressed in their iconic red combination. The famous star medals are awarded after each training session by the instructor. They demarcate the febrile snow hunt from the control of dynamic slaloms...

To become a holder and take advantage of courses at the Grand-Bornand go first ESF (the French Ski School) of the ski area. It is located at the Maison du Tourisme, at 62 Place of the Church in the centre of the village. Collective ski courses are charged between 156€ and 195€ for six two-hour lessons depending on the season. For snowboarding, prices are substantially the same.

Private courses are also available to advance faster. Naturally, this benefit is more expensive: it will cost you 256€ for six one hour courses.

Note that the Grand-Bornand FSS also offers Nordic ski lessons (35€ per course), biathlon (15€ for 1 hour of initiation) or snowshoes (37€ per day trip). And the smaller ones are not left: the club Piou-Piou/Ourson, between 3 and 4 years old, allows them to experience the joys of slipping. The rates are still there between 156€ and 195€ for six courses depending on the season. Skiing, the sooner you learn, the better you are at adulthood!

Good news, however: it’s a bit like the bike, it never forgets.

Rentals

When you go to the mountains in an episodic way, it is probably unnecessary to buy your equipment. The stations have understood it well and agencies of sliding equipment rentals have developed within each of them... sometimes, by tens! The Grand-Bornand rental companies are located in the centre of Grand-Bornand Village or Grand-Bornand Chinaillon. You will have the embarrassment of choice and no chance of suffering from a shortage, no concern!

The agencies are open 9h to 12h and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Generally. The ideal is to order your online hardware in advance or directly by phone. Skis, snowboards, boots or shoes, helmets, snowshoes, snow-scoot ... You can rent everything or almost on site without taking your head.

Once booked, your equipment will be available in the afternoon before your first day of skiing. For example, if you land from Saturday to Saturday, your equipment will be prepared and adjusted on Friday afternoon. You will only have to recover it by making sure to try it beforehand. Small advice, especially for skiers: your ski shoes, extremely rigid, must be perfectly adapted to your foot under pain of suffering the martyr from morning to evening.

In any case, the rental rate depends on the chosen agency and the sophistication of the desired equipment. For the complete panoply including shoes, skis and sticks, it will cost you at least 60€ per week six days. For a helmet (strongly advised), add one 20 euros per week.

A bond, in a variable amount, will be required but it is rare to have to pay. Just try not to confuse snow and rocks, it'll be fine!

Now you're ready to go down the Grand-Bornand trails!
