Discovery of the Kerala region
Everyone knows North India, Rajasthan in particular. Its palaces, its history, its maharajas that reflect the image we make of India , yet South India is very different.
On the opposite side of the north, the south of India, more precisely the Kerala region, sums up the tropical India, between coconut trees and canals with emerald and turquoise hues. These channels are called backwaters . These backwaters are actually an incredible entanglement of canals that extend into the homeland.

It’s at Kollam 20 km north of Varkala, which is the south access route to backwaters, in this vast network of canals and lakes, hundreds of inhabitants make daily trips between their homes and their places of activity. Unlike other parts of India, in this part of the country, everything is a sign of tranquility and calm.
Boardings of all kinds navigate on these limpid and turquoise waters, protected by the shadow of palm trees. It is not uncommon to see villagers fishing the shrimp directly in the water, these fishermen in the water to the neck, catch with toes the fish on the vase before throwing them into the floating pots nearby.
A show to which tourists can attend the many cruises offered on backwaters. Two companies allow to sail in boats on these waters, those of the Water Transport Department are managed by the state and are considered slower than those of the Alleppey Tourism . Some routes may last between 8 hours and 2 days depending on the route chosen. The boats built using boards and coconut fiber called kettuvallam or house boat are often the symbols of Kerala but this region is full of a multitude of treasures.

The beaches of Kerala all as beautiful as each other are very numerous, the most famous of them, Kovalam , is 16 km south of the town of Thiruvananthapuram. This beach equipped with many amenities is very cozy by tourists who have come to get fucked by the Kerala tranquility. Despite this tourist agitation, the hinterland remains authentic and as peaceful as elsewhere in this region, it is probably this authenticity that pleases so much and makes the reputation of South India.
To summarize the Kerala offers beautiful green landscapes, between palm trees, coconut trees and tranquility. The countryside and backwaters attract more and more visitors every year thanks to this lush landscape that perfectly defines the image of a tropical paradise!
