Itasy: the Fall of Lily and the Andranotoraha crater lake

In the Itasy region of Madagascar, there are two natural tourist sites: the Lily Fall and the Andranotoraha crater lake.

Going to Itasy without passing through Lily's fall is unacceptable. Like other water points in the surrounding area, the fall of the Lily comes from the volcanic eruptions of the region of Itasy . The site owes its name to the daughter of a settler who has elected domicile in the region. She lost her life while playing in the cascades.

At mileage terminal 5 after Ampefy is a track that leads to the Andranotoraha crater lake. Instead of blossoming lava, it is a calm and pure water that occupies a bowl anchored at the crest of a small mountain. Access to the site is very easy. From this place, the view of Lake Itasy is uncanny, but only a small part of its area is seen. A few hundred meters away is also the crater lake of Ambatohasana where the topography is identical.
