Siming is the historic Xiamen district, located throughout the southern part of the homonymous island. It was here that the first port was founded by the Mings. It is separated from the island of Xiamen by a sea arm of one kilometre where seven islands and islets float, like a small archipelago connected to the bitumen of the continent. It is rather in the southeast – that is, near the seafront – that you will have to look for where to sleep in the district of Haicang because you will find most of the activities to do and things to see.
