A visit to Piedmont for the holidays? You loved Milan, you'll love Turin! This is in which area to stay in Turin!
Former capital of the influential states of Savoy, the kingdom of Sicily, Sardinia and Italy, Turin is one of the economic and cultural lungs of the italic peninsula. The fourth largest city in Italy with 2.2 million inhabitants in the foothills of the Alps, Turin is a must-see point to visit Italy just 4h30 from Lyon. As in the cities of northern Italy, staying in Turin can be expensive but it will be less expensive only in Milan .
The city is divided into 23 neighbourhoods with a multiplicity of different atmospheres. The offer of accommodation in Turin is vast: but we advise you to look for an apartment or a hotel in the city centre so as not to waste your time in public transport. Here are the neighborhoods where to stay in Turin.

The centre of Turin is an architectural gem: its streets offer a total of 24 kilometers of arcade-covered walks, ideal for facing the cold of the alpine climate. The historic centre is built on a portion of the banks of the Po, and spreads to the beginning of the Corso Francia – Course de la France -, the longest avenue of Europe (11,75 kilometers !). In this neighborhood, the baroque soul has not disappeared from the buildings and there is everything to seduce you: the via Garibaldi – the longest pedestrian street in Europe – and via Roma (with luxury shops) to go shopping, museums, buildings and historical vestiges survived (the dome of the Saint-Jean-Baptiste Cathedral, the Saint-Laurent church for example) for beautiful cultural walks.
On the side of the Via Garibaldi and the Roman quadrilateral, there are small cafés and trendy restaurants, where you can enjoy the delights of Italian cuisine. Don’t miss a taste of Italian coffee or devour a good Italian ice on the terraces of the squares of the city centre: Piazza Palazzo Di Citta, Piazza San Carlo and Piazza Castello. Finally, about ten parks and gardens to stroll away from the summer sun: the Reali Inferiori Garden, the Palatine Gate, the Jardin dell’Anagrafe, the Alfredo Frassati Garden and Piazza Solferino. It’s a good place to sleep in Turin, active and central, but it’s full of tourists.

As a continuation of the gigantic Via Pô, you will cross the Vittorio Emanuele I Bridge to explore the Borgo Po district, less urbanized as it is located on the hill. The environment is very green, the deeper we sink into the neighborhood, the less world there will be and the more relaxing the atmosphere will be. It is a residential area but it can be good to find a room to sleep in Turin if you want to be green and quiet, away from the tumults of the city center.

A large park stands on the banks of the Po in the neighborhood, the Parco del Valentino. The old industrial buildings found a second youth. The nearby area of the centre is full of workshops, shops and cafes. Enjoy a morning to explore the local museums: the Museo di Anatomia Umana , Museo di Antropologia Criminale and Museo della Frutta . After a stroll through the medieval castle, many bars and terraces are waiting for you. Staying in San Salvario is enjoying the city while being close to the green areas: a natural setting in the city!
