Also known as "Big Bazar", Paharganj is a central area, not far from the bus station, and offers a plethora of youth hostels, guest houses, and motels. But be careful, if the neighborhood is cheap, it is also very groubling world and very noisy. If you’re a small-budgeted barder, it’s an excellent place to stay because in addition to low prices, there are also many bars, restaurants and travel agencies. When you swing east, don’t miss the memorial dedicated to Gandhi, Gandhi Smriti and the Shantivan Memorial Park.

Majnu Ka Tilla

Located north of the city, near Vidan Sabbha Metro, it is the Tibetan neighborhood of New Delhi. It is a rather quiet and relaxing area, ideal if you want to regenerate before going to the heights of India: the north and the chain of the Himalayas. The accommodation will not be very expensive and full of Buddhist temples to visit.

Delhi South

If you’re looking for a cleaner, less groubling, greener and cultural New Delhi, instead target the southern neighbourhood: large, spaced avenues, lined with arbes, many historic buildings. You will breathe a much purer air than in the neighborhoods of the centre, polluted and densely populated. It is the bourgeois neighborhood of New Delhi and therefore the prices of housing to sleep in New Delhi will be higher!

Connaught Place

A commercial and financial bulwark of the city, this district is home to dizzy institutional buildings and many corporate headquarters. So much to say that the neighborhood is less crowded and more secure than other areas. The district is organized in boulevards converging towards the Central Park of New Delhi. You will find clean and comfortable accommodation, but much more expensive than elsewhere: luxury hotels and large resorts of high standing. It’s also a good place to stay in New Delhi if it’s your first trip to India and if you’re looking for a safe stay.

Karol Bagh

Adjacent to the passenger area on its west side, Karol Bagh is a shopping area with many cheap accommodation solutions, although more expensive than its neighbour Paharganj. If you want to bring back exotic souvenirs (tapis, beard clothing, spices and other local products, etc.), it is here that you have to book a accommodation where to stay in New Delhi. The neighborhood is alive from day to night, and is a good starting point for hiking in the gigantic forest park "The Ridge" (Central Ridge Reserve Forest).
