Are you going to visit the Murcie area for the holidays? Here, to help you, our guide to find out where to stay in Murcia!
Located in the south-east of Spain 35 kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea – and only 350 km from Madrid – in the valley of Segura and bordered by the eponymous river, Murcia is the seventh city of Spain. With a total of 442 203 inhabitants the city also houses 690 000 souls throughout the urban area. Murcia enjoys a semi-arid Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and very hot summers, and very little precipitation. A rent to stay in Murcia will be much cheaper than in France but its amount will vary depending on the area.
From one quarter to another, Murcia’s splendour reveals itself to the visitor: rich historical and archaeological heritages, an overlay of cultures – between the Andalusia , Valencien and Catalonia, a succulent gastronomy, an open-air architectural museum and a resolutely artistic city. This is where Murcia is staying.

The centre district is organized around the Cathedral of Murcia, built on an ancient mosque between the 13th and 18th centuries. With 600 years of history, it has undergone various influences and offers a mix of styles: gothic, Renaissance and baroque. This monument, even if you do not practice, is a must in Murcia. You can climb to the tower – to enjoy a breathtaking view of the city – and visit the chapels of the Vélez and that of Junterón. This area near the banks of the Segura is home to many restaurants, historic buildings, green spaces and alleys where you can enjoy beautiful urban walks. The neighbourhood, however, attracts wealthy classes: electing home to stay in Murcia can be more expensive.
