Are you going to visit Northern Italy and Liguria for the holidays? Here's our guide to find out where to stay in La Spezia!
Small town north of Italy with a population of 92,477 inhabitants, La Spezia is winded around the "Gulf of Poets" and is the largest city in the south of Liguria. The feet in the Tyrrhenian Sea and the gaze to Tuscany, the city houses an important merchant port and an important base of the Italian Navy, as well as many shipyards. Thanks to its coastline and its white sandy beaches, the city draws its resources from tourism, naval construction, steelwork, oil and mechanical engineering. Ideally located between Genoa, Florence and Pisa, it is located close to one of the jewels of Liguria: the villages of Cinque Terre , which attracts many visitors. As often in Italy, staying in La Spezia will be expensive: the price of accommodation is rather high, although the offer of accommodation is abundant.
To be sure that you can find a room to sleep in La Spezia, we recommend you book in advance because the tourist traffic storms the hotel park in the summer. Here are the places to stay in La Spezia.
The historic centre

Centro storico is the historic district of the city. It is located at the edge of the military base and the port, but its advantage is to be essentially pedestrian, it is almost believed in the Écusson de Montpellier. Prione Street – via del Prione – there are many shops and large international brands, shops of all kinds if you want to make a "dry shop". In parallel streets – Corso Cavour and via Cristoforo Colombo – you will find cinemas, many terraces and restaurants where you can enjoy the charms of Italian cuisine.
The community garden, towards the port will punctuate your walks. Everything can be on foot. At the end of the neighborhood, on via XXVII Marzo (rue of 27 March), visit the Castello di San Giorgio (Château Saint-Georges). It is a pleasant area but it is not there that the hotels are the cheapest to stay in La Spezia.

Perched to the north of the historic centenary, this neighborhood does not offer much of a particular thing in itself, if not the advantage of being close to the central station of La Spezia. If you have a route of order to visit the Cinque Terre to Romaggiore, then it is in this neighborhood that you will have to sleep in La Spezia. After walking around the city, take advantage of it to go to Pisa, only 80 km south.
