Are you planning a trip south of Vietnam? Discover and find the best areas to stay in Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville!
Located south of Vietnam, the former Saigon is the country’s economic lung. With a population of 8,224,400 inhabitants spread over an area of 2,090 km2, it is also the largest city in the country. Saïgon was the capital of the colony of Cochinchina, then that of the French Indochina from 1887 to 1901. Capital of the Republic of Vietnam (from 1954) after the Indochina War, it is renamed Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville after the Communists took power after the Vietnam War in 1975. Because of its heritage and subequatorial climate, in 2016, Vietnam recorded the record number of 10 million visitors. The offer of accommodation is extensive to stay in Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville and goes from the cheap hostel in the hotel.
Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville is divided into 259 districts, 58 communes and 5 cantons: as much as it is gigantic. Here is our selection of places to sleep in hô-Chi-Minh-Ville.
Pham Ngu Lao

Pham Ngu Lao is literally the passenger area – backpackers: dynamic, groubling, where you can find easily where to stay, from the youth hostel to the dormitory less than 10 € per night at the hotel of better standing. The area is very frequented by international tourists, it is a bit the Khao San Road Bangkok. There is an unqualifiable number of bars, restaurants and cafes where to celebrate both day and night and enjoy themselves by eating international dishes (mexicaine, Italian, Eastern, Indian) if you are tired of Vietnamese cuisine (which would be tired of good things?).
The flat is the incessant tumult of the neighborhood where street vendors can quickly get us tired. Pham Ngu Lao is very central because located not far from the city centre and the Saigon River. An ideal place to stay in Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville but beware of your personal belongings, many travellers report thefts to the hurried...

Ben Thanh

A quarter of the famous eponymous market, this area houses a wide range of hotels where to sleep and is very central to radiate in the city. There too, the neighborhood is very lively at night: festive and commercial. If you're looking for calm and tranquillity, you'll have to go to another area where you can sleep because the hotels on the street have a façade, the rooms will probably be noisy. Don't miss Ben Thanh's market and the Palace of Reunification, and walk on the streets "Le Tanh Ton" and "Ly Tu Trong". A trip to Vietnam must also be commemorative of its past, whose traumas are still hot: the Museum of Remnants of War, commemorative of the atrocities committed during the Vietnam War from 1955 to 1975, is an obligatory passage. Many photos can be shocking, but let us not forget what happened there.

Thao Dien

Thao Dien is excited, it is the hupped neighborhood of expatriates. The traffic is less dense than in the city centre, the alleys are calm and less tumultuous. There are mostly less motorcycles, which is rare in Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville, and a source of appreciable calm. We are on a cornice surrounded by the Saigon River, and the French know this place well: there are expatriates from the Hexagon in large numbers. The local population likes to find its western habits: Western supermarkets, chic restaurants and habitats and luxury cars... If you like to find your comfort and have a comfortable budget, then instead aim at this area where to stay in Hô-Chi-Minh-Ville but you will only meet few Vietnamese.
