In which quarter house in Galway?

You go to Ireland but don't know where to sleep in Galway? We guide you to find out which neighborhoods are staying in Galway!

The fourth largest city in Ireland, Galway is a small town located on the west coast of Ireland, and has many treasures and charms. The city had 72,729 inhabitants in 2006, but its population swells in the summer when the beautiful days arrive. It is a very young, dynamic urbanization, popular with students and famous for the amount of festivals organized there.

With its dynamic local economic growth, Galway is considered a Celtic Tiger (by analogy to the fulgurating development of Asian tigers). Galway is also known to be a festive city with a warm population and a refined culinary culture. The center is as often, the best place to stay in Galway.

Claddagh

Former fishermen’s quarter is the old town of Galway and it’s one of the most interesting parts to visit. Until the 1950s, Claddagh was a community of autonomous sinners. So much to say that the atmosphere will be popular. It is also in the district of Claddagh that we make the famous eponymous ring, composed of a heart surrounded by two hands surmounted by a crown, a jewel supposed to symbolize friendship and love. The neighborhood has the advantage of being residential – so very quiet – central and by the sea. Treat yourself to a walk along the shore of Claude Toft Park in South Park: to stay in Claddagh, there are few hotels but you can prefer to rent a home accommodation, Airbnb being your new best friend!

Quay Street

This is Galway's active quarter. Most of the accommodations – hotels, youth hostel, apartment in the living room – are concentrated there and this is where most Irish and tourists are located. In this very shopping street and very touristy not far from the Corrib docks, you will only have the embarrassment of choice to find a bar and drink one (or two) glasses: there are pubs and restaurants – taste seafood, they are renowned – everywhere!

In the evening, we let out festive notes of musical instruments: many concerts are organized in the pubs, the opportunity to enjoy Irish music, its Celtic influences and dance until dawn. If you are looking for a festive place, full of young and cheap, no longer look for you found in which area to stay in Galway. Back to the medal, in spite of a very tourist street, there are also a plethora of souvenir shops « catch-tourists » ! But it’s the game.
