Finding accommodation in Frankfurt is likely to cost quite expensive. Considered one of the most enjoyable cities in the world, Frankfurt am Main is also one of the most expensive. A large international financial place, it houses many banking institutions such as the European Central Bank, the Federal Bank of Germany and the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. With its 731,095 inhabitants, the city has a rich past and a major cultural heritage. However, thanks to numerous historical monuments and large museums that are part of the city's soil, Frankfurt has an intense cultural life and a very warm old centre.

Frankfurt consists of more than a hundred neighbourhoods. As much as telling you that we can’t present them all. The most frequented are Nordend, Bornheim, the city centre, the old town, Westend, Bockenheim, and Sachsenhausen, and each has its own atmosphere. Here is a selection made by our care of the neighborhoods where to sleep in Frankfurt.

Innenstadt and Altstadt, downtown

The downtown area will be delighted if you are planning to go shopping during your holiday. In this area you will find large shopping centers, including along the Zeil, the main shopping street of the city. Fashion boutiques in Hauptwache and Konstablerwache will fill the jewelry boxes and wardrobes of chic women while the choice will be difficult to make to sit in restaurants of all nationalities and bars so much there are. The neighbourhood is surrounded by many parks, making it a pleasant area to sleep. However, the price of overnight stays can be high, prefer housing at home if your budget is tight.

Sachsenhausen

Sachsenhausen is a quiet and family-friendly tourist area on the south shores of Main, with German specialities restaurants, small cafes and small bars in peaceful paved streets. It is the second most populous neighbourhood in the city, but there is a serene atmosphere. There are very few historical monuments, but tourists appreciate it for its proximity to the city centre and the green spaces, quite numerous. This neighborhood could well offer you the accommodation you need, a few steps from the old city.

Bornheim

Innumerable cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops summarize this lively neighborhood: it is popular with students and noctambules who have the heart – and the stomach – at the party. The main and most vibrant street is Berger Strasse, 2.9 kilometers long: it is the largest shopping street in the city. Shops, great signs, restaurants, terraces... Everything you need to take a crowd bath on a sunny Saturday while sitting down after a good urban rando. If you are rather young and/or are not aficionados of areas populated with graying heads, then this area where to stay in Frankfurt is for you.

Nordend

“Come up” to Nordend if you are an artist, young couple, attracted to the organic culture, amateur of the galleries of art and Wilhelmian architecture – from the German Empire from 1871 to 1918 – or a musician or in search of a peaceful park where to stroll a spring and summer afternoon. This neighborhood, the most densely populated, can satisfy a large number of affinities. It is home to numerous bars, cafés, restaurants, organic shops and music-instrument shops, and other boutiques for chic shopping. The neighbourhood, like any gentrified area, can be expensive in terms of housing. But if you have a good standard of living, it’s a great area to stay in Frankfurt.
