In which area house in Porto Alegre?

You're heading to Porto Alegre, Brazil? Here is our selection of places to stay in this sunny city!

Porto Alegre is the capital of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil . It is located near the Guaíba natural lake in which the waters of the rivers Jacuí, Sinos, Caí and Gravataí meet. It is an open lake, which is why it is sometimes referred to as the Guaíba River, which has about thirty islands intersected with small bays and canals that form the Jacuí Archipelago.

Porto Alegre is composed of many neighborhoods and surrounded by hills, morros, covered with vegetation and occupying 65% of the city's surface. It is a city that has been influenced by different cultures from the regions of Uruguayan and Argentine Pampa: vocabulary and accent but also music have been marked by the Gauchos, herdsmen of the South American plains. Thus, it is not uncommon to see people walk by drinking maté, a traditional drink of the Guaraní Amerindians who prepare themselves by infusing yerba matt leaves.
