Detailed map and plan of Palma de Mallorca

Are you coming to visit Palma de Mallorca? Here's how to get to the city center and find yourself in all its small streets.

At first the city of Palma de Mallorca may seem to be a real labyrinth, it is full of alleys, squares and churches. To guide you here is a map of the center of the city and its seaside, but also some practical information to reach (or leave) the heart of the city from the airport and the port.

Map of the city center of Palma

Palma, although being the most important city on the island of Majorca is not very large, everything can be done on foot, from the Plaza de Espana to the seaside. But you can also rent bikes during the day to move around, there is a great bike path throughout the bay.

From the airport or the port, how to reach the center of Palma?

By public transport Whether you arrive by plane or by boat in Mallorca, the center of Palma is very well served by public transport.

From the airport first. This one is pretty close to the city. Just take bus number 1 for a journey of about thirty minutes. As soon as you arrive on the tarmac, this blue bus is indicated in the corridors of the terminal and the airport is its terminus, so you can’t fool yourself. In case of doubt there will be written on the front of the bus « ciutât » which means the city or "port" (his other terminus). You can buy your ticket to the automatic machine at the airport bus stop. A trip costs 5 euros, but I advise you to take a return trip that will cost you 8 euros. There is a departure every quarter of an hour, but be careful, think to check the precise schedules if you arrive and/or leave early or at night. Timetables are available via the official transport site of Palma (you also have details of bus stops, to know or get off).

From the port, which gives directly to the city, but not the city center, you also have to take the bus n°1 but in the other direction! Take bus number 1, towards the "cooked" or the airport. This time you can buy your ticket directly from the bus to the driver, a journey costs 1.50 euros and takes ten to fifteen minutes.

By taxi Palma is full of taxis, they are mainly white with a strip of yellow and red paint on the front and on the pottery and the "taxi" badge on the roof. This will cost you about 20 euros from and/or to the airport, and about ten euros from and/or to the port, without forgetting the tip to leave to the driver. You can stop them on the fly or book it in advance by calling Radio-Taxi at +34 971 20 12 12. You can book your taxi in advance via the search engine below.

Rent a car in Palma de Mallorca If you stay on Palma even, renting a car is really not necessary, the city is of a reasonable size, and as a folding solution you can rent a bike during the day or use the many public transport. In addition, the small alleys in the centre of Palma do not allow you to park easily or not at all, you will need to park in the paid parking lots, and be careful because the « Policia local » is very present.

If you want to visit the island more widely, the car is not essential, but it is extra comfort. You can rent a car when you arrive in Palma de Mallorca by booking it in advance on Rentalcars . You can also rent a car in the day to avoid having to park it in the city's paid parking lot.
