Zaanse Schans is the suburb of the capital, almost too much to consider it as a trip from Amsterdam. Yet this village is in years light of what Amsterdam can offer us. Zaanse Schans is known for its mills, which can be admired through a boat cruise.

The Musée de l’Horlogerie is intended for lovers of beautiful clocks. The majority dates from the 16th to the 19th centuries. It is also possible to visit some mills.

2. Marken and Volendam

If these two villages are often visited together, it is because they are connected by a ferry in half an hour. They are also two complementary villages. Volendam , it is a friendly seaside town famous for its Cheese Factory.

3. Keukenhof

9. Kinderdijk

Filed in Unesco World Heritage, Kinderdijk represents the image of Épinal des Pays-Bas: mills with a loss of sight. Of course, modern times have made these buildings less used than before. But of course, they keep all their charm.

10. Giethoorn

If you like wood, this trip from Amsterdam is made for you. Giethoorn is an idyllic walk as in a fairy tale with its houses with wooden roofs and countless wooden bridges. We appreciate it better in a boat and it is not for nothing that we surname the village “The Venice of the Netherlands”.
